The article focuses on the relationship between the Papacy and the Empire and on the conception of the Roman primacy as it appears in the anonymous hagiographic text Actus Silvestri, deriving hypotheses regarding the production and reception environment of the text and about the development of the idea of primacy in the West.
L'articolo analizza la relazione fra Papato e Impero e la concezione del primato romano così come traspare dal testo agiografico anonimo Actus Silvestri, ricavandone ipotesi riguardo all'ambiente di produzione e ricezione e sullo sviluppo dell'idea del primato in Occidente.
