The archaelogical research in Cencelle is always accompanied by the lecture and the interpretation of written sources about the town. Read and reread is an healthy exsercise, in a long time project, and in this occasion some documents are reviewed in the light of new archaeological data. The progress of archaeological research of University of Roma Sapienza – from 1994 in progress – allow a right comparison of different data and of different information set. The article aims to compare written and archaeological sources to retrce the history of Cencelle.
