Abstract
Space Is the past a dream? — B17 architects The design for the exhibition “Is the past a dream?“ is based on shaping a homogeneous space, meanwhile conducting this concept by having in consideration that the building of the Kosovo National Gallery is listed for heritage preservation. Therefor space is morphologically conceived to allow integration within structure and artist`s work, as result of experiencing the exhibition as total. And thus this project offers an open exposure so that the connection between audience and artist Majlinda Kelmendis work is reflected. The interventions at the gallery start with eliminating the corners of main walls therefor eliminating shadow, this also helps to highlight space height by conveying direct light to the side walls and using existing light fixtures. This is also a response to adapt space for exhibiting the new art works with unusual dimensions. Interventions on the gallery floor have been conducted by covering the existing floor with a layer of white non glossy sheet, the combination of these vertical and horizontal surfaces blurs borders between wall and floor. While walking through the gallery you experience the purity of whiteness and the interference of two black surfaces and a red surface which is a closing one of the project, is the past a dream? By Majlinda Kelmendi. The homogeneous space, turns the gallery into an intriguing path in which the visitor connect with the works.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
