The Quadriportico in the University campus of Rome is a kind of architectural phantom as its traces have been lost few years after its construction. The young rationalist architect Eugenio Montuori designed it in 1935 as a recreational area of 12.000 square meters which was soon embedded in post-war expasion, making the original shape compromised and unrecognisable. The author conjectures it was conceived as a flexible structure, having typological (e.g. the four-sided portico of monastery ascendance); functional (e.g. just rest and recreate); and constructive aspects (e.g. modular concrete frames and canopies) ready to be easy transformed in the future. In lacking of specific and dedicated studies, the author collects and presents archive material and findings after a quick survey on the existing building, in order to reconstruct the original structure, also by a digital mode, as well to define the hypothetical steps of its transformation.

Abstract
In lacking of specific and dedicated studies, the author collects and presents archive material and findings after a quick survey on the existing building, in order to reconstruct the original structure, also by a digital mode, as well to define the hypothetical steps of its transformation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
