IN SEARCH OF LOST PROSE: SAMIZDAT WRITERS WE HAVE FORGOTTEN During the Perestroyka and early Post-Soviet years a huge amount of previously banned texts were published thanks to newly-acquired freedom of speech. However, the interest of magazines and publishing houses was concentrated on socially relevant and scandalous books, while writers devoted to a highly esthetic conception of literature were mainly ignored. Consequently, most of the prose works of extremely important writers like Aleksandr Kondratov, Boris Kudryakov, Vladimir Gubin continue to remain unpublished and are exposed to a sad destiny of silent censorship and the physical risk of disappearance.INGLESE
