Trafalgar Road Housing. Trafalgar road, Greenwich, Londra ( Gran Bretagna) James Gowan 1964-68

One of the most interesting residential projects by James Gowan, built in the mid-sixties in the Greenwich district of London. Four four-storey buildings form a small square in the courtyard layout; they have a straight line except for the one to the south, which is planimetrically with staggered bodies, following the course of the trench railway line. 
Three buildings are made up of a series of two overlapping duplex dwellings, served by three stairwells, and distributed from the gallery on the second floor, which links the four buildings, interrupting only to the south-west at the driveway entrance.

Uno dei più interessanti progetti residenziali di James Gowan, realizzato a metà degli anni sessanta nel quartiere di Greenwich a Londra. Quattro edifici alti quattro piani formano nella disposizione a corte una piccola piazza; essi hanno un andamento rettilineo tranne quello a sud che è planimetricamente a corpi sfalsati, seguendo l’andamento della linea ferroviaria in trincea. 
Tre edifici sono costituiti da serie di due alloggi duplex sovrapposti, serviti da tre corpi scala, e distribuiti dal ballatoio al secondo piano, che rilega i quattro edifici interrompendosi soltanto a sud-ovest in corrispondenza dell’ingresso carrabile
