The aim of this chapter is to provide a framework for psychodynamic practice with members of sexual and gender minorities. It is of crucial importance that mental health professionals listen to and help members of sexual and gender minorities, as such individuals continue to be subjected to discrimination throughout the life cycle, even in progressive societies. Therapists who work with such clients must understand and treat their clients without prejudicial bias.
