Abstract
An unpublished archival source allows us to analyze the funding channels of a small Roman parish, served just by its Rector; in the second half of fifteenth century. The marginal role of economic incomes connected with the practice of religion is shown, compared with those resulting from the exploitation of the parish land and real estate. Many business ventures of the Rector, all intended to optimising the parish resources, are observed. Remarks are put forward on the real functions of parishes accounting books, on the personalistic perception of Church property and on the relationship of the Rector with money, as well as on the image of himself delivered to faithfulsI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
