Lack of prevention: A slap in the face of intergenerational solidarity

Are you already dead when you lose your identity due to a neurodegenerative disease? This volume is a new and original contribution inspired by an edited collection first published in Italy, Intergenerational Solidarity: Silver Universe. Why silver universe? We have coined the term to avoid speaking simply about aging, which to many seems somewhat negative. More importantly, it can be insufficient for our purposes, as we are attempting at an exploration of diverse spheres of life. The multidisciplinary approach that we are promoting truly speaks into the universe of meanings, not an isolated human being or problem, but the complex context that surrounds every single one of us. As years go by, at some point our universe becomes silver. In terms of chronological age, it is difficult to set clear boundaries as to when a person becomes an older person. To most of us though, a fairly universal sign of aging is gray hair.
