During the 2003 excavation campaign at Ebla, researches in an area north of the Audience Court of the Royal Palace G brought to light the left half of a two registers votive plaque. This relief represents a clear example of acquisition of a traditional Mesopotamian model, showing nevertheless, innovative features, symptom of the Eblaique peculiar way of seeing. The article analyzes these originalities, shedding light on the meaning of the representation and, in particular, focusing on the identity of the veiled woman.
