The Kur and Pulvār rivers have represented the major water sources of the Marvdasht plain area since ancient times. The aim of this paper is to track down these two streams in the written sources (Greek, Latin, Arab, Persian and modern European authors) and in particular to record the different names that have been given to them from the 1st BCE to the 19th century.
