Abstract
The aim of the contribution is to offer a critical rethinking about the statement of Valentinianism's division in duae cathedrae in Tertullian’s works. A synoptic survey of the two christological assertions in DeCar 10, 1 (carnem Christi animalm adfirmat) and 15, 1 (carnem Christi spiritalem comminisci) and of the well-known brief report in AdvVal 11, 2 – where Tertullian asserts that the split sprang from a discord in regards to the syzygia Christ-Holy Spirit – will show the implausibility of the interpretation 1) of DeCar 10-15 as explanatory of AdvVal and 2) of the two statements of DeCar as inconsistent in the same doctrinal background.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
