In 2008 the Fuksas’ architecture study implemented the project of 'renovation and restoration' of the Union Military Palace (acquired by Benetton Group S.P.A.). The building occupies an entire block of the Campo Marzio district and was an important testimony of the urban transformations that occurred through the ages up to Roma Capitale. With today's action has led to the complete dismantling of all the interior wall structures, to build from ex novo a contemporary architecture inside a casing by now devoid of any architectural significance (purport). The architect took the opportunity to realize his 'Lantern' without bothering to relate either to the architecture on which it was made either with the very important Roman urban context. The historic building fabric, formed inside the block through the centuries until the creation of the building in 1906, is now irretrievably lost. The contribution (o grant?) attempts (o to essay?) a its reconstruction through the reading and interpretation of archival documents (design and survey drawings, vintage pictures) and construes the contemporary work.

Abstract
The contribution (o grant?) attempts (o to essay?) a its reconstruction through the reading and interpretation of archival documents (design and survey drawings, vintage pictures) and construes the contemporary work.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
