Periurban landscapes are fragmented and complex environments, where different kinds of land use coexist. In these landscapes agricultural and productive uses alternate with urban borders, industrial areas, neglected and abandoned areas, often producing an incongruous syntax. However, periurban landscapes also represent locations that are strategic not olnly for the ecosystemic balance, but also for the role of containment of the sprawling urban expansion, and for the establishment of a new city-campaign pact.

Abstract
Periurban landscapes are fragmented and complex environments, where different kinds of land use coexist. In these landscapes agricultural and productive uses alternate with urban borders, industrial areas, neglected and abandoned areas, often producing an incongruous syntax. However, periurban landscapes also represent locations that are strategic not olnly for the ecosystemic balance, but also for the role of containment of the sprawling urban expansion, and for the establishment of a new city-campaign pact.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
