During the last decade, the city of Palermo has been undergoing relevant transforma ons from various perspec ves. This has been the consequences of a mul tude of circumstances, European nancial crisis, migrants/refugees crisis, a new administra on of the city and an increased awareness and re- sponsibility among the ci zens. Various na onal and interna onal recogni- ons (Italian Cultural Capital 2018, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, Manifesta 12, Youth Capital 2017) have con rmed that they are on the right path. This posi ve moment has been launched and, progressively, rid- den by many young professionals that decided to challenge the present situ- a on by inves ng their life for their hometown instead to expat. Last spring, during the second Urban Thinkers Campus in Palermo, Right to the future, organized by PUSH. with the Municipality of Palermo and pro- moted by the United Na ons, an Open Call was launched to promote a di- alogue on the future of ci es and translate the global goals set by the New Urban Agenda into concrete local policies. More than 50 applica ons arrived from 12 di erent countries. The aim of this number of “iQuaderni di Urbanis ca Tre”: Right to the Future: Vision Development Kit for the city of Palermo, is to promote 7 of the most innova ve and replicable urban solu ons, selected by an interna onal Steer- ing Commi ee in order to elaborate concrete proposal and inspire visions for the city.
