In this article, the authors, following clinical research data, try to analyze the correlation between the manifestation of anorexic symptom and the existence of problems of non-elaborated losses. Moreover, they try to explain how these non-elaborated losses in the families of origin could influence the developments of family relationships and the constructions of shared values and myths in the following generations. Referring to a transgenerational perspective, the authors explore the meaning of the "myths of unity" so typical and frequent in such families. © De Boeck Universite.
