The laboratory activities for “Archaeometric investigations on red pigments” were the following: scanning electron microscopy (SEM) on cinnabar samples; portable x-ray florescence (XRF) on cinnabar samples; Infrared spectroscopy (μ-FTIR) on red and yellow ochre samples; X-ray diffraction (XRD) on red and yellow ochre samples; Differential thermal analysis (DTA) on red and yellow ochre samples; Synthesis of goethite from Fe(NO3)3 and KOH solutions.
