Nature monumument of Fieri region

The paper is focused to the natural monuments of Fieri region, within which from the administrative point of view are included Fieri, Mallakaster and Lushnja districts. The paper is written in the frame of the project “Preparation of the booklet for the natural monuments of Fieri region and their touristic evaluation”, financed by the Fieri municipality. It is a valuable document in the hands of environmentalists, local authorities and specialists dealing with environment protection, managers of natural resources, tourist agencies, teachers and students of tourism, geography, history, biology, forestry, geology, journalism and to the wide public as well. These natural monuments have precious natural, biological, geological, geo morphological, hydrological, ecological, scenery, esthetical, didactical, touristic, and religious values, which in Albania are not very well known and moreover less valued from the responsible governmental authorities and respective decision-makers. This situation has led to the improper maintenance and care for the above mentioned monuments. Some of them are classified as endangered from projects carried out by associations, which are dealing with Environment Protection according to the criteria of IUCN.
