Abstract

ThethermodynamicstabilityoftwowidelyinvestigatedmodelsforhighT, superconductivity, the Kondo-lattice and the extended three band Hubbard model, is analyzed in the strong local repulsion regime. Supercon- ducting instabilities in these models are also found. For the first model superconductivity stabilizes the system against phase separation. For the second model the superconducting instabilities occur close to the phase separation region. In both models, therefore, phase separation and super- conductivity appear to be related phenomena.
