The identification of parameters is considered for an unconfined coastal underground aquifer which is subject to the action of the sea tide on its boundary. First, by introducing a suitable mathematical model, it is possible to separate the problem of determining the permeability from that of determining the specific yield. Then the identification procedures employed are described in detail and some computational results are presented.
