The objective of this study is the analysis of the forms of discourse partecipation characterizing the entry of a novce in a specific community of practice. The corpus of data are the trascriptions( based on jeffersonians rule) of 3 workmeeting. Partecipants at the meetings are four persons, two from the productive organization and two from the organization committente the multimedial product. Conversational analysis shows how the novice became progressivily more competent and legitimate to partecipate to the disocurse tipical of this type of meeting. Moreover data shows his higher discourse "presence", a more frequent use both of direct questions and appropriate discourse strategies, his higher centrality in the communications flow and also a higher variety of discoursive content at which the novice is able to contribute. Summarizing, results show that the learning of specific professional competences is a situated and social process, during which a central role is played from the expert members of the community of practice acting as essential mediators between work experitise and novice.
