Genome sequencing opened the access to the information contained inside cells. Protein science will understand at molecular level what is a cell, making use of the newest technology will enhance the understanding of how different cells work and interact together to form tissues, how these tissues can organise themselves to form organs, and how come different organs will build an organism. These technologies are of particular interest in the fields of human pathologies and neurosciences. The aim of the project is to show the strict relationships between structure and function at very different levels: from the molecular level, up to the most complex organism as a whole, passing through the organization of tissues and organs. Each component of the project implements basic research not just for improving knowledge, but to apply it to human health. Most importantly, each and every aspect of the project follows the World Human Right Declaration therefore the pathologies studied are not confined to the “rich” world, but include some specifics of the developing countries.
