The survey of the s.c. Arch of Janus in Rome, after a careful formal analysis and volume, was conducted through the integration of different methodologies, with emphasis on 3D laser scanner has been integrated by a topographic survey with total station and a photo straightening using specific softwares . The results obtained, drawing in a series of processing, at different scales, and interpretive specialist, were recruited as axioms for further analysis, in particular the attention has focused, in the process of restitution, the study of different types of holes and existing openings on the outer surfaces of the building. This is to accommodate the specific needs of the related archaeological study that required a relief that can restore the schedules, the main external and internal, with a level of forced characterizations. In a particular way, we proceeded to draw of a series of types of holes, openings, of joints of the blocks and of architectural elements, in order to understand the origin, if the bare or originals, the invoice, the methodology of realization, for contribute to the identification of the type of construction, the chronicity of the article and, ultimately, to allow a virtual reconstruction. The synchronic reading, ensured by the superposition of the rectified images and scaled to the architectural elaboration, not only provides less subjectivity to architectural elaboration, but it makes this process very useful for the recognition of the formal elements that characterize the product.

Il Rilievo del c.d. Arco di Giano in Roma, dopo un’attenta analisi formale e volumetrica, è stato condotto attraverso l’integrazione di diverse metodologie; il rilievo con scanner laser 3d è stato integrato da un rilievo topografico con stazione totale e da un raddrizzamento fotografico impiegando specifici softwares. I risultati ottenuti, graficizzati in una serie di elaborazioni, a scala diversa, interpretative e specialistiche, sono stati assunti quali assiomi per le successive analisi; in particolare l’attenzione si è soffermata, in fase di restituzione, sullo studio delle diverse tipologie di fori e bucature esistenti sulle superfici esterne dell’edificio. Ciò per assecondare le specifiche esigenze del correlato studio archeologico che richiedeva un rilievo capace di restituire i prospetti, principali esterni ed interni, con un livello spinto di caratterizzazioni. In maniera particolare si è proceduto alla graficizzazione di una serie di tipologie di fori, di bucature, di giunti dei blocchi e degli elementi architettonici, al fine di capirne la provenienza, se di spoglio o originali, la fattura, la metodologia di realizzazione, per contribuire alla individuazione della tipologia costruttiva, della cronicizzazione del manufatto e, in ultima analisi, per consentirne una ricostruzione virtuale. La lettura sincronica, assicurata dalla sovrapposizione delle immagini raddrizzate e scalate alla elaborazione architettonica, non solo garantisce una minore soggettività all’architettonico, ma rende tale elaborazione molto utile per il riconoscimento degli elementi formali che caratterizzano il manufatto. Il Rilievo del c.d.
