Google Art Project. Da una stanza all'altra, nei musei del mondo

“Explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks at incredible zoom levels, and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces” says the homepage of the Google Art Project. Launched on February 2011, Google Art Project collects hundreds of high-resolution images of artworks from seventeen European and American museums and allows virtual tours of the galleries housing them, by using Google’s Street View technology. The friendly interface of this product, as well as the possibility to get information by navigating both the museum’s building and the paintings’ surface has been determining its diffusion.
