We consider three-dimensional self-avoiding walks. We compute the exponent gamma that controls the asymptotic behavior of the number of walks going from the origin to any lattice point in N steps. We get gamma = 1.1575+/-0.0006 in agreement with renormalization-group predictions. Earlier Monte Carlo and exact-enumeration determinations are now seen to be biased by corrections to scaling. Abstract
