L'alessitimia nello sviluppo del bambino

The paper, after a general introduction to the construct of alexithymia and its measure in adults and children, specifically addresses the theoretical problem of the development in childhood of a capacity for identifying and describing emotions, and of factors apt to favour or hinder this development. Data are also reported around the importance of the alexithymic dimension as a factor predisposing to pathology in childhood or adult age, and as a mediator of the effects of traumatic or anyway unfavourable situations. As a conclusion the need is asserted of a deeper pathologic development, and on the relationships between parental features and the development of an emotional competence in children
