This invited chapter deals with the problem of robust wideband beamforming. It contains a review of existing techniques and their drawbacks in real world environments and explains why the ML steered beamformer, previously introduced by the same authors, is capable of resisting to severe multipath and reverberation. In addition, original and optimal solutions to relevant side problems, such as the quiescent vector choice and focusing matrices optimization under reverberation is provided in the chapter.

Abstract
This invited chapter deals with the problem of robust wideband beamforming. It contains a review of existing techniques and their drawbacks in real world environments and explains why the ML steered beamformer, previously introduced by the same authors, is capable of resisting to severe multipath and reverberation. In addition, original and optimal solutions to relevant side problems, such as the quiescent vector choice and focusing matrices optimization under reverberation is provided in the chapter.File allegati a questo prodotto
