Novel core–shell magnetic nanocomposites for drug targeting of anticancer drugs were developed by a reverse emulsion process. Two different nanoparticle coatings (albumin and polyethylene oxide) were investigated to elucidate their possible role in controlling drug adsorption and release of methotrexate, used as model anticancer drug. The obtained results evidenced as these formulations may be potentially employed as effective carriers for drug targeting.

Abstract

Novel core–shell magnetic nanocomposites for drug targeting of anticancer drugs were developed by a reverse emulsion process.
