This paper deals with QoS provision for broadband access via TCP/IP over a DVB/RCS satellite network. The paper presents both the satellite terminal proposed algorithms and the simplified ones, required for the actual implementation in the SATIP6 demonstrator. Both of them are organized into two main modules, the Traffic Control and Bandwidth on Demand (BoD) modules, operating jointly with the aim of providing proper regulation and differentiation of the IP flows and efficient utilization of the uplink bandwidth. OPNET simulations were used as analysis tool, in order to compare their performances in terms of queuing delay and link utilization efficiency.
