A computer modelling study on Candida rugosa lipase/substrate interaction has been carried out. We applied a molecular modeling protocol involving docking experiments followed by extensive conformational analysis of hte compuer-generated complexes. The results of this study highlight possible targets for site-directed mutagenesis. The mutated gene has been expressed and a mutated lipase produced. The activity of hte mew biocatalyst on the substrate of interest has been checked.
