An advanced simulation technique is analysed, that consists in coupling Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) with Simulated Annealing (SA) in order to enforce statistical correlation among the random input parameters. The technique can be applied to the reliability assessment of complex structural systems subject to deterioration in time due to aging, if analytical models of the structural response are not available, and numerical computations are too cumbersome. Just in order to check the performance of the implemented procedure, the reliability assessment of a rc beam subject to deterioration due to corrosion of reinforcing bars is examined.

Abstract
An advanced simulation technique is analysed, that consists in coupling Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) with Simulated Annealing (SA) in order to enforce statistical correlation among the random input parameters. The technique can be applied to the reliability assessment of complex structural systems subject to deterioration in time due to aging, if analytical models of the structural response are not available, and numerical computations are too cumbersome. Just in order to check the performance of the implemented procedure, the reliability assessment of a rc beam subject to deterioration due to corrosion of reinforcing bars is examined.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
