Rassam’s Activity in Tello (1879) and the Earliest Acquisition of Neo-Sumerian Tablets in the British Museum

Based on the analysis of some fragments of tablets rediscovered in the British Museum, the study reconstructs the short and adventurous exploration of the site of Tello / Lagash by H. Rassam in 1879, using archival documents such as letters and bubbles accompanying the speakers. Taking forgotten fragments of cuneiform tablets and archives documents (letters, inventories, etc.).
