This study describes the evolution and use of advanced technology in the field of foreign language testing, in the particular context of Italian university non-humanistic Faculties. It describes and evaluates the insertion and development of computer-based English testing in the Faculties of Economics and Law, Rome Sapienza University, in both blended and autonomous-elearning modes, its design, potential, achievements and challenges.
