La TV fa bene ai bambini

The TV is not a bad teacher. The consumption of television does not destroy the intellectual curiosity of our children. Children quickly learn to navigate the ocean of programming. In short, the TV does not upset their minds. Yet it is discussed almost exclusively of its possible negative effects. What is needed, perhaps, "dismantle" the magic box - as proposed by this paper - to make us understand the mechanisms by which influenza and stimulates her young fans. For several decades now, the scientific research has made it clear that they have become jaded teleutenti, often unable to defend themselves. To the point that sometimes adults are the real subjects to be protected. The goal of this book is twofold: on the one hand, the food is great debate "public" to learn how to approach the TV without prejudice, on the other hand, help us to assess the influence of television serenely on the processes of socialization and construction of the 'cultural identity of children.

La tv non è una cattiva maestra. Il consumo di televisione non distrugge la curiosità intellettuale dei nostri figli. I bambini imparano presto a navigare nell’oceano della programmazione. Insomma, la tv non sconvolge le loro menti. Eppure si discute quasi esclusivamente dei suoi possibili effetti negativi. Serve, forse, “smontare” la scatola magica – come propone questo saggio – per farci capire i meccanismi con cui influenza e stimola i suoi piccoli fans. Da alcuni decenni, ormai, la ricerca scientifica ha chiarito che essi sono divenuti teleutenti smaliziati, in grado spesso di difendersi da soli. Al punto che sono talora gli adulti i veri soggetti da proteggere. L’obiettivo di questo libro è duplice: da un lato, alimentare un grande dibattito “pubblico” per imparare ad accostarci alla tv senza pregiudizi; dall’altro, aiutarci a valutare serenamente l’influsso della televisione sui processi di socializzazione e di costruzione dell’identità culturale dei bambini.
