Dalla via Dritta a Corso Umberto I. Trasformazioni e stratificazioni del decumanus maximus di Amatrice

When studying historical buildings, it is possible to apply the decalogue of the scientific method, that is to start from a starting postulate, collect data and develop hypotheses. In the present case, the axiom is rather simple, but maybe not too trivial: every building can be transformed. According to the definition of W. Morris, the architecture consists in the set of transformations made by man to the physical environment that surrounds it. This is because life and humanity change and also their needs: architecture is therefore called to respond to the multiple needs in continuous evolution. This contribution aims to illustrate the transformation process that has affected the city of Amatrice through the integration between digital restitution tools, social media and architectural reading. The applied methodology was based on the complementarity between the analysis of the published, graphic and photographic material and the digital reconstruction of the buildings.

Quando si studiano degli edificii storici è possibile applicare il decalogo del metodo scientifico, ovvero partire da un postulato di partenza, raccogliere dati e sviluppare ipotesi. Nel presente caso l’assioma è piuttosto semplice, ma forse non troppo banale: ogni edificio si trasforma. Secondo la definizione di W. Morris l’architettura consiste nell’insieme delle trasformazioni apportate dall’uomo all’ambiente fisico che lo circonda. Questo perché la vita e l’umanità cambiano e con loro mutano anche le esigenze: l’architettura è quindi chiamata a rispondere delle molteplici necessità in continua evoluzione. Il presente contributo mira ad illustrare il processo di trasformazione che ha investito la città di Amatrice attraverso l’integrazione tra gli strumenti di restituzione digitale, social media e la lettura architettonica. La metodologia applicata si è basata sulla complementarietà tra l’analisi del materiale edito, grafico e fotografico e la ricostruzione digitale degli edifici.
