Abstract

Dimension reduction is used to derive the energy of grade two materials thin films.with bulk interfacial energies. Two different approaches, both relying on Gamma convergence have been used to derive the limit model. One leads to a representation in terms of Young measures, the other one is in terms of an integral representaion on Sobolev spaces. References to Cosserat's theory is also provided
