The essay is based on a research carried out within the Iuav University of Venice on the theme of closed churches in the city of Venice. More than thirty ec- clesiastical artefacts within the Venetian urban fabric have undergone processes of deconsecration, change of use or are currently abandoned. This aspect, in its singularities, defines a wider phenomenon that af- fects Venice in general and that suggests new design strategies of reuse and new looks towards the urban artefacts conditions. The text highlights the strategies of the research, such as maps, schedules and project analysis, going deeper inside some venetian cases and eventually defines new strategies of interventions and new architectural answers.
