I fabbricati viaggiatori della linea Roma – Fiuggi: valore e riuso

The Rome-Fiuggi railway line, activated between 1913 and 1919, is now in disuse and of the 40 initially present passenger buildings, 30 are still existing. These buildings have a high historical value in relation to the surrounding space related to local tradition; they also are suitable for social functions. The study specifically deals with the twenty-two buildings to which new use destinations have been assigned. In particular, we worked on analyzing the design choices, comparing those that produced reusations that were consistent with the characteristics of the buildings in terms of functionality, typology and decoration, with those that did not respect them. The projects examined are often examples of urban regeneration and show how the recognition of value is essential for the recovery process.
