Simulation techniques have become an essential element in building design especially in terms of their power to control and manage phenomena with an high complexity level, such as behavior of a human being in a building, its activities, its interactions with it and with other people. In this field the main difficulties are related to the transition between reality with its phenomena at different levels of complexity and virtual phenomena that simulation should foreshadow. The theme of the research focuses on the construction of a general representation template of user-actor, easy to implement and flexible enough to structure the large amount of data affecting human behavior. This 'bridge' between the observation of reality and the algorithms governing the virtual environments will be built using an ontology-based knowledge representation whereas actors are configured like the other entities involved in design process. The ontological structures and the articulation of its entities in Meaning, Properties, Rules, are ideally suited to formalize through equations - the rules - the interactions existing between actors and building, among actors and among building entities.
