The volume brings together studies on various European languages: Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, and Polish. The volume focuses on the verb, a world-class which has a central role in the construction of the sentence and the text. Formal categories of the verb are considered in relation to their semantic and stylistic dimension. In detail are discussed: tenses and their functions, non-finite verb forms, the textual function of the verbal lexicon, the position of the verb in relation to individual and collective variation, the conceptual organization of the verbal system in scientific grammars. The contributions in this volume partly aim at a structural comparison between different languages, partly focus on translational issues, i.e. on the transposition from one language to another. The perspective can be synchronic or diachronic, analyzing both standard and nonstandard varieties. The theoretical framework adopted goes from different expressions of functional linguistics to grammaticography, grammaticalization theory, sociolinguistics, and literary criticism.

Abstract
The theoretical framework adopted goes from different expressions of functional linguistics to grammaticography, grammaticalization theory, sociolinguistics, and literary criticism.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
