Il complesso di San Pietro in Montorio. Metodi di rilevamento e di rappresentazione

The need for a scientific survey of the entire complex of S. Pietro in Montorio has led this research to consider it as an architectural single and not an addition of individual structures. We opted for the integration of methodologies (survey with total and direct station) and surveys (performed in time and by different subjects). The derived planimetry is characterized by deformations and irregularities that have highlighted the points in which a constructive change occurred. The identification of the exact depositions of the walls and their rotations has allowed us to see the discontinuity of some wall systems. The overall processing lent itself to geometric studies on the relationship between the Tempietto di Bramante and the Cloister. Finally, he allowed a series of in-depth analyzes and comparisons with ancient works, allowing for verifiable overlapping with them. The survey as an instrument of profound knowledge is formalized in full during this experience.

La necessità di un rilievo scientifico dell’intero complesso di S. Pietro in Montorio ha condotto questa ricerca a considerarlo come unicum architettonico e non sommatoria di singole strutture. Si è optato per l’integrazione di metodologie (rilevamento con stazione totale e diretto) e di rilievi (eseguiti in tempi e da soggetti diversi). La planimetria derivata è caratterizzata da deformazioni e irregolarità che hanno evidenziato i punti in cui si è manifestato un cambiamento costruttivo. L’individuazione delle esatte giaciture dei muri e le loro rotazioni ha permesso di constatare la discontinuità di alcuni apparati murari. L’elaborazione complessiva si è prestata a studi geometrici sul rapporto tra il Tempietto di Bramante ed il Chiostro. Ha infine permesso una serie di approfondimenti e confronti con elaborati antichi, permettendo verosimili sovrapposizioni con essi. Il rilievo come strumento di conoscenza profonda si formalizza in pieno durante questa esperienza.
